Morning Musume

The story of Morning Musume。 begins in the television show “Asayan” (TV Tokyo) where an audition took place to find a female vocalist for the band Sharan Q. Although they were not chosen, the five finalists are challenged with a very hard task: sell 50 000 copies of their indies single “Ai no tane” in five days. As they succeeded, their career starts. The name “Morning Musume。” comes from various notions such as abundance, multitude, the feeling of a gain, intimacy.

The group’s first major single was “Morning Coffee” and their 7th single “Love Machine” sold over a million copies, creating a new record at the same time. After that, the most famous all-girl Japanese group continues to create new music, with successful performances in Asia, America and Europe.
