Girugamesh kicked off their career on March 24th 2004, with their first demo tape, [Shisaku kata enban], which was limited to 100 copies. By summer the band released their first maxi single, [Kaisen sengen] ~kikaku kata enban~, which was extremely well received and sold out in both the first and second pressings before climbing to 10th place on the Oricon indies chart. Since Kaisen sengen's success, the band continued to sell out nearly every release over the next two years.
By the end of 2004, girugamesh added two more singles to their discography and despite their heavy touring in 2005, released three new singles and their first mini album, Goku -shohan kata enban-. 2006 proved to be a continuation of their busy lifestyle, with two new singles and by September, the band's first full-length album, 13’s reborn, which despite being released in two versions, flew off the shelves and is still difficult to obtain today.
With their popularity soaring, it was no surprise that in 2007 girugamesh participated at JRock Revolution, the American multi-visual band event at the end of May. Soon thereafter, the band made their next trip abroad to Europe to promote the European release of 13's Reborn. By July, girugamesh released a new mini-album, Reason of Crying, before continuing touring up until the launch of their second full album, girugämesh, which hit store shelves on December 26th.
2008 was one of Girugamesh’s craziest years, touring nearly nonstop with two tours including over 40 dates. In November, they released their 3rd full length album, MUSIC, in America, Europe and Japan. 2009 has proved just as wild for girugamesh, with recent successful tours in both America and Europe, and new singles on the way this summer. girugamesh shows little sign of slowing down any time soon and it is clear they aren't done showing us just how crazy they are.
